Golf Ibiza

Golf Ibiza was reinvented in 2017 under the new management of the azuLinehotels hotel chain and includes major improvements to the ground facilities, along with new features such as the opening of the new restaurant, the Hoyo 19.

Origin of Golf Ibiza
Golf Ibiza has its origins in the old golf club of Roca Llisa, which opened its doors in 1972 with a 9-hole golf course, becoming the first golf club on the island.

Twenty years later, in 1992, the 18-hole golf course known as Ibiza Golf Club was inaugurated. Later, both clubs were united under one name, the current Golf Ibiza.

The golf club
Extending over ten kilometers of indigenous landscape, the golf course is just seven kilometers from Ibiza's capital and halfway between the towns of Jesus and Santa Eulalia. In addition, in the municipal area of Santa Eulalia, it has two courses with very different characteristics, located in a beautiful valley near the coast of Ibiza, from which you can appreciate the unique and spectacular view. Its design and courses allow you to play golf with family and friends while enjoying the scenery.

Among the changes to the facilities are major improvements in the facilities, maintenance and conditioning of the golf course, where the greens, bunkers and extensive courses of the courses have been carefully maintained and improved in detail.

The golf club is divided into two courses of 9 and 18 holes respectively. Most holes have large greens, protected by strategically placed bunkers. Several holes are surrounded by trees and lakes on the routes. These features, together with the naturally beautiful rugged terrain and constant sea breezes, make it a unique and very enjoyable place to play golf.

Golf Ibiza
Located in the most rugged part of the valley, with narrow lanes, sea views and numerous natural and man-made obstacles, the 18 holes each have a name referring to the most remarkable geographical or aesthetic quality and for this reason it is one of the few golf courses which stand out for the variety of its "bermuda" grass and the particularity of its terrain.

The 18-hole course has spectacular holes adapted to the rugged terrain. The slopes require high-risk tactical play, especially on hole 4, with a high-risk outer limit; hole 7, with the most pronounced slope of all; and hole 14, straight and completely downhill.

Although it is the holes 16 and 18 that challenge players the most as they are the most problematic. In short, a nice round of about four and a half hours, where no hole is really easy and where playing is a real challenge for golf enthusiasts of all categories.

Roca Llisa

The 9-hole course corresponds to the course inaugurated in 1972 by the now-defunct Roca Llisa Golf Club. The characteristics of this golf course, flat and open, make it very attractive to all types of players, from beginners who will find an agile pace of play, as well as more experienced players. Bunkers and trees, well positioned in the first 4 holes and with several lakes in the last 5 holes make Roca Llisa well worth a look.

Playing on the 9-hole course is great for the player who only has a few hours to enjoy golf, as the morphology of the terrain makes it a very comfortable round that can be completed in approximately 2 hours.
