The sister of the Atlantic course, the nine-hole Monastery course, is a perfect partner - equally pretty but a fraction less demanding. The Penha Longa Golf Resort is situated in Sintra, only 20 minutes from Lisboa. It forms part of the Protected Landscape Area of Sintra and Cascais.
With its bold drives, courageous approaches and artful greens, it is both an adrenalin rush and a soothing journey through one of Portugal's most inspiring landscapes. Robert Trent Jones II, the architect of the course, designed it to best take account of the steeply sloping terrain and excellent views of the surrounding landscape, across the mountains to the sea beyond.
Monastery Golf Course
The Monastery Course is a nine-hole, par 35 course of 2,588 meters. We offer this course with 18 holes greenfees (two rounds). This course spreads around the historical heart of the resort and is the perfect complement to The Atlantic Course, ideal for guests who arrive in the late afternoon but who would still like to play a round of golf.
