This is the second oldest golf course in the Algarve. Although it opened in 1969, the course was completely renovated and modernised 27 years later although no major changes were made to the magnificent layout. Set in an umbrella pinewood and laid out in an interesting way to take advantage of the natural contours. It is from the English school of Course design. The first holes are easy and inviting with reachable par-4s. The par-3 on the attractive fourth is a Hole in One potential. Club selection from here will play an important part of your game, and straight shots will be needed.

Often described as the Grande Dame of Algarve courses, it meanders throughout the impressive pine trees - the principal hazard - over gently undulating natural terrain In addition to raising the Vilamoura Old Course to new heights of quality, an attractive new clubhouse and adjacent putting green were also built at that time. Situated in the heart of the Vilamoura seaside resort a mere 20-minute drive from Faro airport, this Frank Pennink designed parkland style layout is one of the oldest in the region and renowned all over the golfing world.

As in all the Oceânico courses that well deserved refreshing beverage, a snack or an entire meal are waiting for you at the comfortable clubhouse of the course. You will of course, find a golf shop as well with staff who knows what’s right for you just in case you´re not sure.
