The Windlestrae hotel

The Windlestrae Hotel is a fun, friendly and informal place to stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with views overlooking the established well maintained gardens. Family bedrooms benefit from an extra bedroom with bunk beds fitted with their own TV!

Eat, drink and be entertained
The contemporary Rushes Bar is a relaxed and friendly place in which to enjoy the very best home-cooked pub food. It also provides a venue for live entertainment whether it is on the Widescreen TV, at the pool table, hosting the once a month live music night or regular karaoke evenings.

Alternatively take a stroll through the resort grounds to the Boathouse Brasserie which offers a menu to tempt your taste buds or simply enjoy a drink on the decking taking in the magnificent views of life on the Loch.

Fun for kids and grown-ups alike
Indoors or outdoors the variety of activities available to all guests staying at this resort will keep the whole family entertained. The energetic can enjoy canoeing on the Loch, walking, running or cycling around the 5000 acre estate, playing croquet, mini-golf or outdoor tennis. Smaller family members will love the children’s play park.
Two 18 hole parkland golf courses intrigue and infuriate golfers of all abilities. While a workout in the gym followed by a swim in the 20m indoor pool with a steam or sauna to finish, could be the perfect way to finish your days activities.
For the less energetic a game of pool in the games room or an indulgent spa treatment in the beauty room will ensure everyone has a great stay.

Curious about curling?
Enjoy the fun and excitement of the resorts very own curling rink. Coaching is available for beginners and improvers as well as wheelchair users and the visually impaired. Watch events from the viewing gallery whilst enjoying a drink and a bite to eat can be equally as much fun.

Top 3 reasons for choosing the Windlestrae Hotel
1. Family friendly accommodation
2. Entertainment and activities for all the family
3. Curling rink on site

Perthshire Perthshire: Situated in the very heart of Scotland, Perthshire represents the perfect place to find all that you expect of a great Scottish holiday. Take a walk in Perthshire and discover why this beautiful region is known as ‘Big Tree Country’, home of the tallest trees, widest conifer and tallest hedge in Great Britain.

Perthshire as a holiday destination
Once you’ve soaked up the stunning scenery of outdoor Perthshire, head into the city to find shops, cafes, restaurants, art galleries and theatres. Framed by two grand public parks and the striking Tay Street promenade, Perth is a lovely city offering the best in shopping, nightlife and culture.

Perthshire climate
The North Atlantic Drift, a warm sea current from the Caribbean, which keeps Scotland’s coast ice free in winter, influences the climate here. The day-to-day weather can vary enormously and unpredictably, and is a national source of daily conversation.

Perthshire coastline
The region of the East of Scotland encompasses Angus, Perthshire, Lackmannanshire, Kinross-shire and Fife. The rugged coast and fishing villages are key features of this wonderful region

Perthshire culture
Perthshire has seen some of Scotland's most historic events, and many of them are still preserved in the landscape, the place names and the culture. Kings and Queens, armies and generals, poets and artists - even heroes - all have passed this way, leaving behind a rich legacy of castles, churches, battlefields and historic sites.

Perthshire gastronomy
Perthshire is renowned for its grass-fed beef, lamb & pork. The Scottish national dish of Haggis (offal mixed with oats), neeps (turnip) and tatties (mashed potato) has an excellent nutty texture and delicious savoury flavour. It is often served with a wee dram (a glass of Scotch whiskey). Be sure to try some Scottish shortbread. A crumbly, buttery biscuit.

Golf in Perthshire
Perthshire is home to some of the finest inland golf courses in the world and with 38 to currently choose from … you'll be spoilt for choice. Choose from scenic Highland layouts, idyllic parkland settings and world famous centres. The main challenge won't be navigating your way successfully around the course, more keeping your eye on the ball amidst such stunning surroundings.

The Bruce

Be careful not to let the four par-5s on the outward nine give you a false sense of security, they are par-5s for a good reason.

As one of two 18 hole parkland courses on the Green Hotel Resort, The Bruce is considered the easier course and friendlier towards beginners – you need to play both and make up your own mind.
